You need the following to make questions with “to be”:
Step 1: Take the regular sentence. For example: “Julia is pretty.”
Step 2: Bring the verb “to be” to the beginning of the sentence: Example: “Is Julia pretty.”
Step 3: Put a question mark (?) by the end of the sentence. Example: “Is Julia ready?“
Here is another example with my “masonic” triangle system 😉
Even if you have a long sentence, you should always have “to be” at the beginning of your sentence to make questions. More examples:
Our old house is awesome. → Is our old house awesome?
Her good friends are doctors. → Are her good friends doctors?
This old and dark place is scary. → Is this old.and dark place scary?
Our big team is in Istanbul. → Is our big team in Istanbul?
